摘要：PURPOSE: To improve the bulge resistance of a channel as well as the critical output performance thereof by removing a fuel rod at the corner part of a fuel bundle having a relatively high density fuel rod array. CONSTITUTION: This fuel bundle includes fuel rods R arrayed by the number of 10×10, but the corner part fuel rods R are removed. The curved part of the corner of a channel C is formed to have a radius approximately equal to 0.750". As a result, the pitches of remaining fuel rods R in the array can be increased, and a gap between the fuel rods R and R, as well as a gap between the fuel rod R and the channel C can be made uniform. Furthermore, the channel C is formed to have a curved corner with an increased radius of curvature for giving more smooth curvature, or a flat corner part, in addition to the array with the corner fuel rods R eliminated. In any case, the effective length of the flat side of the channel C is reduced, resulting in the improvement of bulge resistance and a critical output function.
