摘要：<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the burden of a host computer and to improve the response speed by requiring no aid of the host computer when the information is stored in a display terminal and only terminal can process the information by itself. CONSTITUTION:A display terminal 2 stores previously the information on a prescribed rectangular area in a window, the trigger method of the picking action carried out in the rectangular area, and the operating rules practicable in the rectangular area as the input definition. If an input operation is carried out under such conditions, a fact whether the input coordinate value is stored within a defined valid rectangle or not is decided. If so, the reference is given to the operating rule of the input definition. Then a fact whether the transmission of an event is defined in the input definition or not is decided. If not, no aid of a host computer 1 is needed. Therefore the terminal 2 starts the display updating processing to evolve a screen. Meanwhile the transmission of the event is carried out when it is defined. Thereafter the display updating processing is carried out with the aid of the computer 1.</p>
