摘要：PURPOSE:To prevent ink from overflowing on a recording sheet by inhibiting superimoposed recording using ink discharged from the remaining recording head only when ink discharged from a specific recording head is used for double printing. CONSTITUTION:If data in image memory 49 to be printed is multi-value data, four colors such as C, M, Y, BK are controlled by simulated intermediate tone processing of an image processing part 43 so that said four colors are not printed concurrently. Subsequently, 'CPU control' signal is set to either 1 or 0. If data in image memory 49 to be printed is binary data created by a host computer, binary image data, based on which a large amount of image is printed in four colors is sometimes written depending on the method to create software, a signal to be issued in this case is so controlled as to set 'CPU CONTROL' signal to 1 and at the same time, limite the printing colors to three. Thus, if there is any defect in binary image data created by a host computer, ink is prevented from overflowing on a printing sheet.
