摘要:PURPOSE:To impregnate a roving fiber with a thermosetting resin, solution up to the gaps between the monifilaments thereof and to eliminate interlaminar release by bonding chopped staple fibers to a tape-like article composed of a large number of roving fibers impregnated with the thermosetting resin solution to wind the roving fibers around a mandrel and thermally curing the impregnated fiber. CONSTITUTION:A large number of the roving fibers 11-13 (actually several ten fibers) composed of glass delivered from a bobbin are introduced into an impregnation tank 21 having a thermosetting resin solution such as an unsaturated polyester resin solution received therein and impregnated with a proper amount of the thermosetting resin solution by an impregnation roller to be formed into a tape-like article. Chopped staple fibers 22 14' are allowed to fall to be bonded to the upper surface of the tape- like article 10. The chopped staple fibers 14' may be bonded to both surfaces of the tape-like article. For example, the tape-like article 10' having the chopped staple fibers bonded thereto is helically wound around the outer periphery of a pipe-like mandrel 51 through a guide 41 to be laminated thereon in a multiple state and thermally cured to be demolded from the mandrel 51. A part of roving fibers may be replaced, for example, with a different kind of roving fibers such as carbon fibers.
