摘要：Compressor, for briquetting bulky material such as straw, is of the worm type. The rotating worm, which tapers down towards its outlet end, is in a conical compression chamber. Adjoining the chamber outlet for the compressed maerial there is an extruding die,. Several such tapered worms (12) are arranged in a circle in the compression chamber (18). Opt. the compression chamber is charged via a pre-compression device (7) arranged as worm-type conveyor (21), and all the tapered worms (12) being driven through one gear-ring arrangement. USE/ADVANTAGE - Appts needs less driving power and provides continuous operation that is not likely to break down. In an example, the compressor (3) has a housing (4) with a central opening (5) for the connecting pipe (6) of the pre-compressor (7) and, at the other end, a smaller opening (8) for the extruding pipe (9). In a circle around these openings are bearings (10 & 11) for six tapered worms (12) all driven through the universal joints (13), gear wheels (14) and a gear ring (15). The bearings ensure that there is a small gap (17) between the worms. The worms (12) are single- or multi-start and are similar in form to a trapezoidal screw-thread.
