摘要：PURPOSE: To obtain a stable composition containing silica, a 1-4C alkyl ester of a carboxylic acid or a hydroxycarboxylic acid such as a dibasic acid and an inert diluent, etc., at specific ratios as active components and applied to the hair or skin by dissolving in an aqueous solvent. CONSTITUTION: This composition contains >=0.5w/w% (preferably about 2 w/w%) of silica, a 1-4C alkyl ester of a dibasic, tribasic or tetrabasic carboxylic acid or hydroxycarboxylic acid (the hydroxyl group may be acetylated) and optionally an inert diluent or carrier for the ester. The silica is preferably a hydrophobic silica such as silane-treated silica gel and has an average particle diameter of 0.1-20μm. The amount of the ester is selected generally to get an ester:silica ratio of at least 1:1, preferably about 2:1. The ester is preferably triethyl citrate, etc.
