摘要:PURPOSE:To ensure sufficient developed color density and color forming sensitivity and enhance ground brightness and image stability, by incorporating a specified vinyl ether compound into a thermal color forming layer, and providing a protective layer comprising an aqueous emulsion of a high mol.wt. compound or a water-soluble high mol.wt. compound as a main constituent on the color forming layer. CONSTITUTION:At least one vinyl ether compound of formula I is incorporated in a thermal color forming layer, and a protective layer comprising an aqueous emulsion of a high mol.wt. compound or a water-soluble high mol.wt. compound as a main constituent is provided on the color forming layer. In the formula, Ar is a benzene ring or naphthalene ring, which may be substituted by a halogen, alkyl or aralkyl. The aqueous emulsion or water-soluble high mol.wt. compound may be constituted of, for example, polyvinyl alcohol or methyl cellulose. This thermal recording material is superior to conventional thermal recording materials in developed color density and color forming sensitivity, so that this thermal recording material is suitable for high-speed recording, high in ground brightness and free of decoloration of images due to fingerprints or other contact.
