摘要：PURPOSE:To improve the stability and reliability of domain arrangement by arranging a 2nd slot for auxiliary use along the lengthwise direction of a 1st slot provided to a stripe domain holding layer and arranging a 3rd slot to a position of the tip region of the 1st slot corresponding to the midpoint of the 1st slot. CONSTITUTION:After the magnetization of a stripe domain holding layer is saturated in the same direction as the magnetization in the domain stabilized around a slot 4, a current is given to a domain generator 8 to generate the domain by the magnetic field and in decreasing the absolute value of the bias magnetic field, the domain is extended to the region with an auxiliary slot 7 while passing over the slot dig part 4. In giving a current to a domain generator 9 to form the domain, the domains are adhered at both ends of the slot dig part 4 by the magnetic field, and with the externally applied voltage and magnetic field given zero, when the direction is reversed to increase the strength of the magnetic field, the domain having a magnetic wall surrounding the slot 4 is formed. Since the potential well of the generator 8 still remains deeper, the slot 16 is provided to shallow the potential well therearound to prevent the optional extension of the domain tip.
