摘要:PURPOSE:To prevent the contact of a head with a recording paper, etc. to enhance a life and a reliability and to improve a fidelity of a recording character and image and a recording speed, by a method wherein, an ultraviolet light is scanned on a medium changing its color due to the ultraviolet light, while ON/OFF of the ultraviolet light is controlled according to a character/image information to be printed. CONSTITUTION:An ultraviolet light 1 irradiated from an ultraviolet light source 10 is so adjusted by a lens-group 20 as to irradiate a spot of approximately 200mum diameter on the surface of a recording paper 40, scanned on the recording paper. A shutter 30 controlling the quantity of the ultraviolet light 1 is so controlled as to open/close according to a character/graphic information signal 60 emitted in synchronism with a scan by the ultraviolet light spot and an action (forward feeding) of the recording paper 40. On the ultraviolet light receiving surface of the recording paper, an ink 50 developing color on reception of the ultraviolet light is applied. The ultraviolet light in use is of 250nm wavelength. In this construction, a desired character can be recorded with a color-developed ink I on the recording paper due to irradiation of the ultraviolet light on the ink surface on the recording paper. For example, a stilbene derivative, which develops color (discolors) due to irradiation of an ultraviolet light of 200-350nm wavelength, yellows due to irradiation of that of 313nm wavelength and turns colorless due to irradiation of that of 450nm wavelength.
