摘要：PURPOSE:To detect a sensitive material without generating the formation of a color on the sensitive material, by making the emission of light from a light emitting element intermittent and controlling a light receiving element so as to detect light only when the light emitting element emits light. CONSTITUTION:A sensitive material 1 is fed by a sensitive material feed motor 6 and, at the same time, the light from a light emitting source 7 is polarized by a polygonal mirror 8 to irradiate the sensitive material 1. Said light is emitted by a sensor control circuit 5 only during the ON-time of a light emitting element (LED)2. When there is the sensitive material 1, because no light is incident to a light receiving element 3, a motor 6 is operated to transfer the sensitive material 1 to an S-direction and, further, light for printing is emitted from the light emitting source 7. Subsequently, when the terminal P of the sensitive material 1 passes the position Q on the line connecting LED2 and the light receiving element 3, the light receiving element 3 receives the light of LED2 and the motor 6 is stopped by a main control circuit 4 and the emission of the light from the light receiving element 7 is stopped. By sufficiently reducing the ratio of the light emitting time and interval of LED2, the sensitive material 1 can be prevented from forming a color by the light of LED2.
