摘要：Chinese characters are input with the aid of words of a transcription of Latin letters. The Chinese words are composed of syllables which are in each case reproduced by one Chinese character. Words are sequences of one or a number of characters and thus of one or a number of syllables. When the words are input by means of the transcription, the letter sequences are compared with syllables stored in a memory (SP) and are automatically divided into syllables, letters which could be allocated both to a syllable considered and to the next syllable always being allocated to the syllable considered in each case. For further processing, syllable codes are allocated to the syllables and each word is translated into an unambiguous sequence of syllable codes. <IMAGE>
