摘要：PURPOSE:To make it possible to entirely unite a printing hue without reducing the number of effective printed characters by making it possible to make the color arrangement pattern of a color ink ribbon always same to a use direction, by making the upper stage color arrangement pattern of a color ink ribbon reverse to the lower stage one thereof. CONSTITUTION:An ink ribbon 10 is divided into two upper and lower stages and each of them consists of yellow Y, magneta M and cyan C and the color arrangement pattern of the upper stage (a) is set to YMC from the left to the right while that of the lower stage (b) is contrarily set to YMC from the right to the left. A mark 11 to be detected is provided between cyan C and yellow Y. The ink ribbon 10 is received in a ribbon cassette 12 and fed by an endless belt 13 and the mark 11 to be inspected is detected by a detection sensor 14 to discriminate a printing color. At the printing position P of a thermal head 15, desired printing is performed to the paper 17 set to a platen 16 by using the upper stage (a) of the ink ribbon 10. After the ink ribbon 10 is wound up by a ribbon spool 18, the ribbon cassette 12 is turned upside down and printing is performed by using the lower stage (b) of the ink ribbon 10.
