A shrimp-shelling device comprises a horizontally pivoted jaw 3 and a vertically pivoted jaw 2 defining between them a tapered cavity 4 which may be of rectangular or circular cross-section, the shrimp being inserted in the cavity on its side so that its back and abdomen are engaged by the jaws, a pair of tapered cutters 5 (Fig. 2) of arcuate cross-section then entering the cavity so as to cut the sides of the shell and to eject the fleshy part of the shrimp by squeezing it out.
