摘要：PURPOSE:A diuretic that contains, as an active ingredient, L-, DL-threo-3-(3,4- dihydroxyphenyl)-serine, thus having stabilized and durative diuretic action and being suitable for use in cardiac edema and congestive failure. CONSTITUTION:L-, DL-threo-3-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-serine (abbreviated to threo- DOPS) is used as an active ingredient to give a diuretic. L-, DL-threo-DOPS has been found to have significant diuretic action. The action mefchanism seems to be based on the 1-noradrenaline (NA) which is formed from L-threo-DOPS by the action of decarboxylase in vivo. The diuretic action of l-NA is unstable, while L-threo-DOPS is stable and durative even when orally given. It is also effective in myxedema, Addison's diseases or hyperantidiuretic syndrome.
