摘要：PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of combustion and reduce the volume of occurrence of non-combustibles by a method wherein a combustion assisting burner is formed in such a way as the flame of the combustion assisting fuel is of a divided flame. CONSTITUTION:At the extremity end of a heavy oil burner 4 are arranged two separate sets of three burner nozzles 20, respectively. With this arrangement, the heavy oil injected from the heavy oil burner 4 is divided into two sets and injected to form the heavy oil flames 14a and 14b. In turn, fine powder petroleum cokes are applied with a circulation force by a swirling unit 21 at the outlet of the fine powder cokes flame 15 injected into the furnace. The fine powder cokes themselves are applied with a circulation force, so that the cokes are entered into the divided flames 14a and 14b so as to make a sufficient contact with these flames. With this arrangement, the fine powder cokes are ignited for a short period of time, resulting in that the combustibility is improved and a rate of generation of the non-combustibles is reduced.
