摘要：PURPOSE:To perform effectively shape control and crown control of a rolling material by forming an intermediate roll by fitting a sleeve to the outer circumference of a plurally divided arbor and allowing a bending means to act for said control. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate roll 6 is formed by an arbor 6a functioning as an axial center and a sleeve 6b shrinkage fitted to the outer circumference of the arbor 6a, and the arbor 6a is made easily flexible by dividing it into plural parts in its axial direction. In controlling the shape and crown of a rolling material, a pressing roll 7 is pressed against the central part of the roll 6 by protruding each pressing cylinder 14 in a cylinder block 15 to press the side part of each roll chock 8. By this pressing force, the intermediate roll 6 is deflected and deformed in the horizontal direction throughout its axial direction, to adjust the deflection, produced in the vertical direction of an upper work roll, in its longitudinal direction.
