摘要：PURPOSE:To prevent a brake ring from scattering due to a centrifugal force even if the ring is broken due to a thermal expansion by providing a projection at a slight gap held at the bore side a circular brake ring mounted on the lower disk of a lower fan of a vertical rotor. CONSTITUTION:A vane 28 of a lower fan of a vertical rotor, not shown, as designated by a dotted chain line as a rotating center is welded fixedly to upper and lower discs 25, 26, the disc 25 is secured by a bolt 23 to a rotary rim 1b, and the disc 26 is secured by a bolt 24 to an annular brake ring 16a. When a brake unit 7 is pressed in a direction of an arrow to brake the vertical rotor by utilizing a friction to the ring 15a, the ring 16a expands by the frictional heat. A projection 29 is formed at a gap G matched to the expanding size on the inner peripheral side of the ring 16a. Thus, even if the ring 16a is broken due to the repetition of the thermal expansions, it can be prevented from scattering due to a centrifugal force. It can be replaced by the abnormal vibration occurred at that time, thereby preventing it from damaging.
