摘要：The object of the present invention is to make possible the conversion of the energy obtained in the thermal phase of heat engines of the alternating type into energy of a flow of pressurized liquid or gas fluid, directly, without passing via the rotary movement of crankshafts, with the consequent saving of moving parts and of losses owing to bearing friction. The invention uses the thermal phase of an alternating heat engine formed by a plurality of cylinders with their corresponding pistons, gas-admission and -expulsion devices and other carburation and cooling elements of a thermal machine or engine. This thermal phase may correspond to cycles of exothermic type - such as a steam engine or Stirling engine - or of endothermic type - such as Otto-cycle or diesel engines, either two- or four- stroke. Naturally, this phase is not a subject of the patent. The apparatus which is the subject of the invention is characterized in that: 1. The synchronized movement of the various pistons of the thermal phase is achieved by virtue of a second, even number of hydraulic cylinders, with their corresponding pistons, which are hydraulically interconnected in pairs and are filled with a first suitable hydraulic fluid and whose pistons are joined mechanically by means of rods to the pistons of the thermal phase, in such a combination that the movement and position of any piston of the thermal phase transmits its movement and persistently determines the position of each one of the remaining pistons in the same thermal phase by means of the combined movement of the hydraulic pistons, and operating with opposite movements, two by two. 2. In relevant cases, there may be a third plurality of cylinders, with their pistons joined mechanically to the pistons of the previous pluralities of pistons and each one of these latter cylinders provided with admission and expulsion valves so that they act in the manner of an alternating pump in order to produce a flow or vein of a second pressurized liquid or gas fluid, all this forming a kinematic chain or assembly of free pistons with one degree of freedom. If the first and second fluids are liquids of the same type, the second and third plurality of cylinders may, if appropriate, be joined to form a single plurality of dual- effect cylinders. In another possible alternative, there is no third plurality of cylinders and the machine is used as a generator of thermal-phase combustion gases which are used to supply a gas turbine, all this in the manner of a compound engine. The various pluralities of cylinders may be grouped together in the most convenient manner in order to form a compact and dynamically balanced assembly.
