摘要：The subject of the invention is a composite archery bow with hollow arms. The arms consist of a plurality of layers of fibre-reinforced material which are connected to one another and which form a fixed part of the arm, including the walls and the sides of the arms, and multiple hollow parts within the region defined by the walls and the sides. The hollow parts have elongate tapered rectangular cavities which extend from the thickened end of the arm to a point located approximately at 2/3 of the length of the arm. The fixed part of the arm is restricted to the portions of the arm which are necessary to withstand the compressive and bending forces and the moments of torsion generated when the bow is in operation. In particular, means are provided to strengthen the tips of the arms selectively, in order thereby to withstand distortion as a result of the offset winding cables. <IMAGE>
