摘要：PURPOSE:To improve lubricity by holding an organopolysiloxane compd. wherein amide is bonded to Si in the terminal and/or intermediate position of a molecular chain. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic recording medium holds the organopolysiloxane compd. wherein the amide expressed by the formula 1 is bonded to Si in the terminal and/or intermediate position of a molecular chain. If R<1> does not exist in the formula I , the compd. is subjected to hydrolysis and therefore the characteristic as a lubricant deteriorates with time. The carbon atom R<1> is therefore essentially >=1. If the carbon atom exceeds 5, the synthesis is difficult. If the carbon atom of R<2> is <7, the coefft. of friction is not increased and durability is decreased and if it exceeds 21, the compatibility with a magnetic layer decreases and a m.p. increases. The organopolysiloxane compd. to be used consists preferably of the constitutional formula expressed by the formula II. The formula IIIis bonded to Si in the terminal and/or intermediate position of the molecular chain in this compd. and therefore the compd. is outstanding in terms of lubricity and the deterioration with age.
