摘要：The device includes fingers(10,11) for gripping an object and an optical system for snesing the object to be gripped. The optical system includes light-emitting members(16a, 17a) for generating light beams that cross at predetermined angles, and light receiving members(16b, 17b) for receiving the light beams. These members are so arranged that when the gripping device in use, the position of the object may be sensed in response to interception of the beams by the object as relative movinemt takes place between the device and object. Pref. a control device is responsive to the output signals of the light receiving members to move the gripping device so as to bring the gripping centre of the device into coincidence with the centre of the object.
