摘要：PURPOSE:To reduce a disc brake to a compact size by bringing a lining into slidable contact with the side of a rotary shaft support directly, and accomodating a compression coiled spring in a piston so as to diminish space to be used along the rotary shaft. CONSTITUTION:At the time of braking, a disc brake 3 to which linings 4a, 4b are secured is clamped by the side 2a of a rotary shaft support 2 and a piston 5. A hollow piston 5 comprises a large diameter portion 5a, a small-diameter portion 5b and a circular base 5c which is the end surface of the small-diameter portion 5b brought into contact with the lining 4b, and the small-diameter portion 5b is provided with a spring accomodating chamber 5d comprising a plurality of clinder holes and circular grooves, which is adapted to accomodate a compression coiled spring 8 for urging the hollow piston 5 to the lining 4b.
