摘要：PURPOSE:To simply input a pattern to a screen by cutting out an optional pattern from a plate made of a material which does not penetrate light and indicating one point in the pattern with a light pen having a border detecting part. CONSTITUTION:A measure 4 produced by cutting out a pattern from a board made of a material which does not penetrate light to a picture is put on the picture and one point 5 on the center of the pattern is inputted by a light pen 1. Consequently, luminance on the whole picture is scanned from the detected coordinates to all directions. At that time, light 7 reflected by one point of the picture is projected in all directions and one part of the projected light is inputted to a border detecting part 3 of he light pen 1, so that the detecting part 3 detects that the point is not hidden. On the other hand, the luminance of light 9 from a hidden part 8 does not reach the border detecting part 3 of the light pen 1, so that it is detected that the point concerned is hidden. Thus a border 10 is found by scanning all directions from one point inputted by the light pen 1.
