摘要：PURPOSE:To obtain a toner uniform in dispersion of a magnetic powder and triboelectric characteristics, and not deteriorated even by high temp. and humidity, or low temp. and humidity, by coprecipitating metal oxides and dispersing this magnetic powder having metal oxides on the surface into a binder resin to prepare a magnetic toner. CONSTITUTION:An aq. soln. of a compd. of Zn, Ni, Co, Mg, Cu, or Cd is added to an aq. soln. of iron salt, and alkali is added with stirring to produce a coprecipitate of ferrite or magnetite and one of said metal oxides. It is filtered, rinsed, and dried so as to give a magnetic powder contg. 0.1-60mol% metal oxide per mole of ferrite or magnetite in terms of Fe2O3. The metal oxide forms a spinel structure as a single substance on the surface of the magnetic powder. This powder is mixed with a binder resin, and a necessary colorant, charge controller, etc., melted, cooled, pulverized, and classified. The obtained powder is mixed with fine powder of hydrophobic colloidal silica to obtain a one-component type magnetic developer. This is uniform in dispersion of the magnetic powder, and long in life, and can form a superior image even in high temp. and humidity or low temp. and humidity.
