摘要：<p>The vehicle front wheel drive power unit has an engine whose crank shaft is extended through a hollow drive shaft to drive the clutch. The clutch plate drives the hollow drive shaft carrying a gearing which connects it to the gear mechanism. The output shaft from the gear box is connected by a gear wheel to the differential connected by the propeller shafts to the front wheels. This method provides a compact engine construction which does not require a central axle drive to project forwards as is usual on transverse engines.</p>
