摘要：1531005 Separating gases PPG INDUS- TRIES Inc 29 Oct 1975 [30 Oct 1974] 44497/75 Heading F4P To extract a high boiling component, e.g. chlorine, from a mixture with low boiling components, the mixture is compressed in a plurality of compressors 1-4 and cooled by external coolant in coolers 21-24, partially condensed at 25, the gaseous fraction being passed via lines 64-60 through a plurality of exchangers 34-31 where it is cooled and partially condensed by evaporation of the liquid fraction in stages, the evaporated liquid fraction being recycled to the compressors. Liquefied product is extracted from lines 63-60 at points downstream of each exchanger. The liquid fraction is evaporated in stages in exchangers 34-31 by putting the latter in communication with the inlets of the compressors thus introducing a pressure drop which produces evaporation and cooling. The low boiling components are about 1À2 to 1À5 weight per cent of the feed mixture and comprise hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen and carbon dioxide. The method may also be applied to the extraction of sulphur dioxide, ammonia, and carbon dioxide from appropriate mixtures.
