摘要：<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the mixing with sludge by providing a plurality of partition walls having liquid communication structures at the lower ends thereof between a reaction part and a sedimentation part and making the upper end of at least one partition wall higher than a flooding surface while making the height of the other partition wall same to that of the flooding surface. CONSTITUTION:The upper end of the first partition wall 12 is set to the same height as a flooding end 17 and the upper end of the second partition wall 13 is arranged so as to become higher than the flooding end 17. The downward stream 8 generated by the supply of compressed air from a compressed air pipe 5 is divided into a main stream Q1 and a branch stream Q2. The branch stream Q2 is divided into two directions and one of the divided streams meets with the main stream Q1 through a liquid communication part 19a and the other divided stream flows in a sedimentation part through a liquid communication part 19b. Herein, the flow velocity of the branch stream Q2 is made slower than that of the main stream Q1 by regulating the upper end level of the partition wall 12 and the involution of the sludge blanket 10 at the liquid communication part 19b can be prevented. Further, since the concn. of a bacteria suspension in a reaction part is reduced by carriers 26 and the formation of the sludge blanket 10 is suppressed, the carry-over of sludge is prevented.</p>
