摘要：<p>The rear end of the chassis of a vehicle designed for rigidity so as to protect the passenger compartment in the extent of a collision, has two square section tubes (5, 6) forming the main longitudinals of the chassis. Adaptor pieces (19, 20) attached to the rear bumper (4) by funnel shaped portions (17, 18) fit into the open ends of these longitudinals. These are secured by bolts. The wheel housings (21, 22) end in open curved portions (23, 24) with flat, flanged up tops (25, 26) and across them is bolted a strengthening member (27) which is U shaped in cross section.</p>
