摘要：<p>Casting nozzles are claimed comprising, in place of all or part of the graphite and/or amorphous carbon which they are usually impregnated, one or more chemical cpds. resistant to attack by the components of the covering mixt. and/or the metal being cast. The cpds. are pref. SiC, ZrB2 and BN. They are pref. used in the form of finely divided powder. Used in continuous casting of metals, esp. steels, from a converter via a "distribution basket" (sic) in which the nozzles are inserted. The nozzles behave in clearly better manner w.r.t. mechanical, thermal and chemical stresses due to the metal being cast and its covering mixt., e.g. w.r.t. attack by oxides and silicates.</p>
