摘要：<p>The device is for addressing envelopes and comprises a series of magnetised indications which are formed of single characteristics mounted on a backing plate. The selective combination of a number of these characteristics supplies the relevant postal information for delivery of the letter. The backing plate is attached to the top right hand corner of the envelope which bears the name of the addressee. The magnetised indications are formed into groups each of which corresponds to part of the postal address. The individual bars are numbered and are struck through according to the postal district or area to which the letter is to be sent.</p>
