摘要：A non-intumescent mat and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to obtain a proper built-in density and a proper green bulk density for fixing material of anti-pollution device while excluding additional operation for increasing the density by employing crystalline type inorganic fiber. A non-intumescent mat comprises crystalline type inorganic fiber, and the mat comprises 10-80% by weight of crystalline type inorganic fiber having a length of at most 500mum with respect to the total weight of the crystalline type inorganic fiber. The crystalline inorganic fiber is selected from a group consisting of alumina fiber, mulite fiber, silica fiber, alumina-mulite fiber, alumina-silica fiber, mulite-silica fiber, alumina-mulite-silica fiber and mixture thereof. The non-intumescent mat optionally comprises additional non-crystalline type fiber or organic or inorganic binder material. A manufacturing method of the non-intumescent mat as a wetting-method comprises steps of: (1) preparing aqueous slurry comprising water, mixed inorganic fiber and binder material; (2) adding binder coagulant to the prepared slurry from the step (1) and stirring the mixture; and (3) dehydrating and drying the mixture from the step (2) in order to obtain mat, in the proviso that the mixed inorganic fiber comprises 10-80% by weight of crystalline inorganic fiber having a length of at most 500mum and 20-90% by weight of crystalline inorganic fiber longer than 500mum. A manufacturing method of the non-intumescent mat as a drying-method comprises steps of: (i) laminating mixed inorganic fiber to form a mat; (ii) adding binder material to the prepared mat from the step (i); and (iii) dehydrating and drying the prepared mat from the step (ii), in the proviso that the mixed inorganic fiber comprises 10-80% by weight of crystalline inorganic fiber having a length of at most 500mum and 20-90% by weight of crystalline inorganic fiber longer than 500mum. Further, the non-intumescent mat has 0.15 to 0.25 g/cm^3 of initial bulk density, 0.25 to 0.75 g/cm^3 of mount density and a mount support strength of 15 psi or more.
