摘要：PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new liquid crystal compound having a bicyclohexylphenyl group and an alkynyl group, large dielectric constant anisotrophy, and a high NI point, and useful as an electrooptical display material. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal compound is shown by formula I (R is 1-10 straight-chain alkyl or H), e.g. a compound of formula II. This compound of formula I can be synthesized for example, by brominating the alkenyl group of an alkenyl compound corresponding to the objective alkynyl compound, followed by dehydrobromination. For example, the compound of formula II is obtained by adding bromine dropwise to a mixed liquid of 1-[trans-4-(trans-4-(1-propenyl)cyclohexyl)cyclohexyl]-4-cyanobenzene and dichloroethane, stirring the mixture, adding an aqueous solution of sodium thiosulfate to yield a crude brominated product, then, adding the crude brominated product to a mixed solution of potassium-t-butoxide and dimethyl sulfoxide, stirring the mixture, followed by extraction.purification.
