摘要：PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MPEG audio coder which can avoid overflow of a bit buffer. SOLUTION: The MPEG audio decoder 1 consists of the bit buffer 2, a decoding core circuit 3, an analyzing circuit 9, and a skip circuit 8. The decoding core circuit 3 is composed of an inverse quantization part 4, a band composition part 5, a PCM output part 6, and a control circuit 7. The skip circuit 8 is equipped with two nodes 8a and 8b and connections with the sides of the nodes 8a and 8b are switched under the control of the analyzing circuit 9. Then, when the connection with the side of the node 8a is made, an audio stream transferred from external equipment is transferred to the bit buffer 2 as it is. When the connection with the side of the node 8b is made, on the other hand, the audio stream from the external equipment is skipped. The analyzing circuit 9 analyzes each AAU constituting the audio stream from the external equipment and controls the skip circuit 8 according to the analytic result.
