摘要:974,391. Rotary-piston internal combustion engines. KLOCKNER-HUMBOLDT-DEUTZ A.G. May 8, 1962 [May 12, 1961], No. 17627/62. Heading F1F. A rotary-piston I.C. engine comprising a piston having at least three apex edges which is planetarily rotatable within a housing having a multi-arc internal boundary with at least two lobes includes two partial combustion chambers located one behind the other in the rotational direction of the piston at a position where an apex edge approaches a nodal point between two adjacent arcs with one of the partial chambers acting as a pre-combustion chamber in which pre-injection of fuel and consequential pre-ignition thereof takes place. As shown, a three-sided piston 1, Fig. 1, planetarily rotates within a housing 2 having a bi-arcuate epitrochoidal internal boundary 7, a suction port 4, an exhaust port 5 and partial combustion chambers 9, 10 each fitted with a fuel-injection nozzle 12, 13, preferably adjacent the commencement of each chamber so that fuel is injected in the rotational direction 11 of the piston. The partial chamber 9 serves as a pre-combustion chamber into which a small quantity of fuel is pre-injected and then ignites and passes through, e.g., outwardly splayed grooves 21, Fig. 8, in each piston flank to promote efficient burning of the main bulk of the fuel injected through the nozzle 13 into the partial chamber 10. Alternatively the nozzles may be placed at the other ends of the chambers to inject fuel in a direction opposite to the rotational direction 11 or into the middle of the chambers, in which case the fuel splays out in both directions. In another arrangement, each chamber may be fitted with oppositely facing nozzles passing through each of the side walls of the housing. A doubleinjection nozzle, Fig. 6, may be housed in a single casing with a lightly-loaded nozzle feeding the pre-combustion chamber 9 through a duct 19 and a heavier-loaded nozzle feeding the chamber 10 with the bulk of the fuel through a duct 20. In Fig. 7, at each flank of the piston 1, a double-injection nozzle 23 is fitted and fed from a fuel-injection pump 24 which is supplied through ducts 31, 28. To facilitate cold starting an electric heating element 38, Fig. 1, may be fitted.
